Beith Carves UPDATE 17 July Charlie has contacted Norrie to tell him that AARG would like to set up a station at the Beith Carves event. Charlie will continue to liase with Norrie on behalf of AARG. Marcus ZIF, John JCG, Dennis YDN and Gary USC have volunteered to help out with the planning and organistion. More volunteers would be appreciated to help make this event a success. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Norrie GM4VHZ at Tenamast has invited AARG to set up a special event station at Geilsland, near Beith, where they are hosting the Beith Carves event on 9th September 2017. See here for more info on the event. Also, their website here. This is their first year holding this event. It will be restricted to six carvers this year but they hope to progress and become a serious tourism attraction for Central Southern Scotland. Norrie has kindly offered to allow AARG to set up a special event station which he believes could be of benefit to both the club and Beith Carves. As this is our 80th Anniversary this is a great opportunity to showcase amateur radio and AARG. There will be no charge to AARG. This is the same date that was planned for the open day at Ayr Citadel but some members believe this would be a better and more ‘hands on’ alternative. If there is enough interest from AARG members could we have a couple of volunteers to liaise with Norrie to plan and organize a special event station.
